Secret of Mana released on WiiWare
October 13, 2008
Woot. Although I prefer its alchemy wielding and unpopular little brother, Secret of Evermore, a SoM re-release is definitely a plus. With Chrono Trigger coming out on the DS next month, and Super Mario RPG’s release a couple of weeks ago, if they get SoE in, that would pretty much round out re-releases of SNES era Square RPGs.
One can still point to a major gap in the lineup though. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.
Super Mario RPG Released
September 1, 2008
God damn you nintendo, I’m an old man, and I can’t take suprises like this anymore.
FINALLY, with no prior warning, Nintendo has re-released Super Mario RPG - in my opinion the second best RPG ever made for the SNES - for the Virtual Console. With the upcoming re-release of Chrono Trigger for the DS, if Nintendo would see fit to release the Mother games in North America, and perhaps the Secret of Evermore, my SNES revival list would be complete.
Time to dust off that Wii and get playing.
PAX 08: The One Ups
August 31, 2008
I didn’t swing by the concert on friday night (yes, even though Jonathan Coulton was playing), although in retrospect I probably should have.
I’ve never heard of The One Ups before. Apparently there’s a band that does Jazz/Funk covers of video game music. That’s more or less orgasm inducing. Video of the One Ups covering one of the songs from Chrono Trigger below.
Chrono Trigger on DS

I’m just going to say this: It’s about fucking time. When are we going to see Mario RPG and Secret of Evermore?
In other news, I’ve just started with the Xbox Live Platform group this week, after much moving, which is why I haven’t posted in a while. Obviously you’re not going to hear anything out of me pertaining to that, but the future looks good.
